# About us

## Ultralight gear specialists since 2017

We started as Travelight with our stock in a wardrobe. Today we're Gramino — a crew of hikers from Třinec who weigh every gram and will help you gear up for any trek.

### It began in a wardrobe

In February 2017, with a dose of naivety and next to no business experience, we founded Travelight, a shop specialising in ultralight hiking gear. Our entire stock — funded mostly from building-savings accounts — fit into a small wardrobe, and days after the company was registered, one of us left for six months of studies in Portugal.

Like proper hikers, though, we kept ticking off goals step by step and setting bigger, harder ones.

### From Travelight to Gramino

After seven years the Travelight name started holding us back. The new name **gramino** joins two words: **gram** — the unit of lightness and the key parameter we select every product by — and **camino**, Spanish for a way or trail. Just as the Camino de Santiago is many people's gateway to long-distance trekking, we want to be your gateway to the world of ultralight.

### It's about people

From day one, customers have valued our fast delivery, helpfulness and the option to talk anything through on chat or by phone — and we're keeping it that way. We share know-how on packing light and where to go, record the **Život na treku** podcast with fascinating guests, and run a festival for everyone crazy about long-distance treks and ultralight gear.
