In the mountains, you can find yourself in a situation where it's literally a matter of life and death in the blink of an eye. 🏔️ The more time you spend in the mountains, the greater the chance that you'll run into something like this one day. First aid in a mountain environment is fundamentally different because rescue doesn't arrive in a few minutes, but only after several hours or even days. Paramedic and outdoor first aid course instructor Dita Voltr Podhadská came on the podcast to talk about exactly how to act and what to do in these moments. A year ago, we recorded an episode with Dita in which we covered more minor problems and injuries – blisters, abrasions, intestinal problems, or hypothermia. Seemingly trivial things that can still seriously complicate a trek. **Be sure to give it a listen too** 👉 [https://youtu.be/ptFMv9QQalI](https://youtu.be/ptFMv9QQalI) 👈 In this episode of the podcast, we focus on more serious and life-threatening conditions – fractures 🦴, spinal and head injuries, internal bleeding, loss of consciousness, choking, full-body convulsions, or lightning strikes ⚡. You'll learn how to think clearly in these moments, what the most important steps are, and what to focus on so that your help in a crisis can save a life.
