Today she has her canine partner Marvel by her side, lighter gear and just as much appetite for making her dreams come true – fully, colorfully and with her own brand of humor. ## Who is Lůca? We'd been following Lucka ever since her Pacific Crest Trail thru-hike. Our paths only really started to cross a few years later, when we helped her lighten her gear for Stezka Českem, and then for the Arizona Trail and the GR10. While we were introducing her to the world of ultralight, Lucka convinced us in return that **color is sometimes just as important as function**. And somewhere along the way a friendship was born – one that led not only to her joining the Gramino crew quite naturally, but also to a month-long polar expedition together at the beginning of 2025. Over 470 km on BC skis above the Arctic Circle along the famous Kungsleden route. A joint trip with Gramino members Míša and David. **2023 – GR10 (France)** – From the ocean to the sea across the French side of the Pyrenees. A demanding 900 km in 40 days through valleys and mountain passes. **2023 – Arizona Trail (USA)** – A long-distance trail running across the whole of Arizona, from the Mexican border all the way to Utah. 1 300 kilometers of desert, mountains, cacti and rattlesnakes, with unpredictable weather and a finish in the breathtaking Grand Canyon. **2022 – Stezka Českem (Trail Across Czechia)** – Over 2 000 kilometers around the borders of the Czech Republic. Hills, picturesque villages, sleeping under the stars and meeting people who know what it means to be a "stezkař". Proof that you don't have to travel halfway around the world for long-distance trail dreams. Sometimes it's enough to start on your own doorstep. **2019–2021 – European long-distance routes** – Lucka gradually walked the most beautiful treks in Europe, or parts of them. Whether with Marvel, her partner, friends or family members, she gathered thousands of memories from iconic trails: - **Alta Via 1** – Italy - **Tour du Mont Blanc** – France, Italy, Switzerland - **crossing of Madeira** – Portugal - **Alpe-Adria Trail** (part) – Austria, Slovenia, Italy - **Julius Kugy Trail** (part) – Slovenia - **Walkers Haute Route** (part) – France, Switzerland **2019 – Summit of Mont Blanc** (4 810 m a.s.l.) – Another item ticked off the bucket list and a big dream that Lucka fulfilled together with her dad. Despite mild frostbite, altitude sickness and a few tears, she made it all the way to the highest peak in Europe. **2018 – Pacific Crest Trail (USA)** – The journey that launched Lucka into the real hiking world, and probably into all our awareness too. Lucka started writing a blog about her everyday struggles with a twenty-kilo backpack, a ukulele and a heavy DSLR. The blog later became her first book. **2017 – Camino de Santiago (Spain)** – The first long pilgrimage Lucka undertook. And still with plenty of unnecessary gear she wasn't willing to give up.
