## Specifications

The Big Agnes Alpha Direct Fleece Sleeping Bag Liner is a sleeping bag liner that adds comfort, thermal comfort, and also serves to protect your sleeping bag against sweat and dirt, helping extend its lifespan. According to the manufacturer, it increases thermal comfort by 3–6°C (5–10°F). At the same time, it still maintains excellent weight, breathability, and packability.

In sufficiently warm conditions, or in cabins and hotels, you can use just the liner on its own. The advantage of the liner is that, unlike down, it retains its properties even when damp. Unlike a sleeping bag, you can simply toss the liner in the washing machine and wash it.

The mummy shape of the liner naturally follows the curves of the human body and fits beautifully inside a mummy sleeping bag. The minimalist closure with a drawcord hood allows for easy one-handed temperature control. The durable seam construction is smooth and comfortable against the skin. Also included is a travel pouch.

Size Regular is intended for people up to 168 cm tall. Total weight is 191 g, without the pouch 177 g.

Size Long is intended for people up to 183 cm tall. Total weight is 211 g, without the pouch 196 g.

## Materials

[**Polartec® Alpha Direct**](https://www.polartec.com/fabrics/insulation/alpha) is a lightweight, extremely breathable insulating material made from 100% recycled polyester, which has become hugely popular in recent years among outdoor enthusiasts and ultralight gear makers alike, mainly thanks to its unique weight-to-thermal-comfort ratio. This material was originally developed for military use. It's made of a fibrous "pile" attached to a fine grid. It's produced in various weights for different conditions of use.

- Ultralight and highly packable material
- Excellent temperature regulation
- Very breathable, fast-drying, and doesn't absorb sweat
- Comfortable against the skin, pleasant sleep even when used directly on bare skin
- Not windproof – when using the liner alone without a sleeping bag, it's better suited to enclosed spaces (cabins, cars, etc.)
- The fabric is very soft and "fuzzy" – more prone to snagging (watch out for Velcro, animal claws, thorny bushes, etc.)
- The travel pouch is made from ripstop nylon and polyester mesh

Care: Wash the liner in cold or lukewarm water (up to 30°C) on a gentle cycle with a liquid detergent free of fabric softener and bleach, ideally in a mesh laundry bag so the fabric doesn't snag on other items' zippers. Ideally dry it laid out flat, avoiding high dryer temperatures, direct sunlight, and radiators.
