## Description

A proven and tested ultralight three-season tent for one person with one vestibule. If low weight is your number one priority, then the Fly Creek will be the right choice. The bikepack version is more compact when packed and comes in a special waterproof sack that can be attached to handlebars.

A refined ultralight tent for bikepacking for one person.

## Features

Fly Creek Bikepack has undergone a **complete redesign for 2022**.

At Big Agnes, they developed their own alternative method of dyeing tent fabrics - **Solution Dye**, which is much more environmentally friendly (see below).

The tent has a **larger inner height** and a **bigger front entrance**, thanks to the construction with steeper walls.

The single-pole DAC Angle SF Hub construction **increased the usable space inside the tent** and in the vestibule without adding weight.

The tent construction is easier thanks to the thoughtfully designed **TipLok Tent Buckle™** in the corners of the tent, which has three functions: securing the pole structure, tensioning and attaching the rainfly to the tent body, and staking it down. For added stability, there are **Velcro strips on the inner side of the rainfly**, which allow you to connect the rainfly to the structure.

The tent has **one main entrance**. The rainfly is equipped with two zipper sliders and a storm flap with Velcro. Setting it up during the day or at night is made easier by reflective guy lines and color-coded elements of the tent.

On each side of the entrance, there is a **large mesh pocket** for gear. You will find another **large pocket above your head**. It has openings in the corners specifically for those who like to listen to music – you can place your mobile in the top pocket and run the headphone cable through the opening. If you need to hang some gear inside the tent (headlamp, wet clothes), you can use the loops that are inside.

The tent can also be used in **Fast Fly mode**, where you leave the inner tent at home and set off only with the structure, rainfly, and stakes. This way, you'll achieve a beautiful weight of **680 grams**. However, you will need the original footprint, which is **not included** in the package. The footprint will also extend the life of the bedroom floor, so it's useful to have one. If you don't want to buy a footprint, at least consider using [Tyvek](/c/sleep/footprints).

The construction of the tent is simple and intuitive.

## Bikepack

The Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL2 Bikepack Solution Dye tent version is primarily designed for bikepacking, which is why it has **shorter segments of pole construction**, measuring **30 cm** when packed instead of the standard 50 cm. This allows the poles to easily fit onto handlebars, into a saddlebag, or anywhere else on the bike. A **sturdy waterproof bag** is also included with the tent, allowing you to secure both the tent and poles to the handlebars.

On the outer side of the rainfly, we find a **sewn strap with loops** for drying wet gear and clothing.

The tent is also equipped with a **special storage space for a helmet** – on the outer side of the mosquito netting, there is an elastic strap for securing the helmet.

[Footprint of the tent](/p/big-agnes-copper-spur-hv-ul2-bikepack-footprint) (**not included** in the package) extends and forms the floor even in the vestibule. You can store equipment in it without having to place it directly on the ground.

## Materials and construction

The rainfly and the tent body are constructed from **double ripstop nylon with a silicone treatment**, which is additionally equipped with a **PU coating** on the inner side. The combination of these two treatments (silicone + coating) ensures excellent waterproofing. The qualities of this tent are indeed indicated by [annual surveys of the most commonly used equipment](https://www.halfwayanywhere.com/trails/pacific-crest-trail/pct-gear-guide-2020/) on long-distance treks, in which the model [Fly Creek UL2](/p/big-agnes-fly-creek-ul2) for several years in a row, it has placed in the TOP 5.

**All seams are taped** with waterproof polyurethane tape that is solvent-free (PVC and VOC free). You won’t need any additional seam sealing or similar procedure here.

The tent structure consists of one durable DAC Featherlite NFL aluminum pole.

The new ultralight and durable Dirt Dagger UL Tent Stakes are constructed from aluminum, feature a patented I-beam design, and have a length of 15 cm.

The tent is **semi-freestanding**. This means it can stand on its own without stakes, but to keep the lower part at the foot end tensioned, it needs to be weighted down or staked.

## Advantages of Solution Dye

Big Agnes was the first to come up with their own alternative method of dyeing tent fabrics, which significantly reduced water and energy consumption in the manufacturing process. Their technology is much more environmentally friendly and gives the fabrics excellent UV resistance. You will find this technology in the Fly Creek and Tiger Wall tents.
