## Features

A fully equipped tent **with two side doors with vestibules and one front door,** from which you can easily pitch an awning using trekking poles. The awning isn't just great for stargazing – it also creates extra ventilation on hot summer nights, an extra escape route, or storage space for four-legged companions and gear.

The construction with **a four-way DAC hub** and vertical walls significantly increases interior headroom. Thanks to these features, the Salt Creek is one of the most versatile trekking tents from Big Agnes.

The door zippers have **two sliders with a storm flap secured by Velcro**. Reflective webbing and color-coded tent parts make pitching easier, day or night.

Pitching the tent is easier thanks to the clever TipLok Tent Buckle™ at the tent corners, which serves three functions: **securing the pole structure, tensioning and attaching the rainfly to the inner tent, and staking out**.

For better ventilation and to minimize condensation, the rainfly is equipped with **a roof vent and low venting** on the vestibule door.

A practical and very spacious **pocket over the foot area** lets you stash bulkier items in otherwise unused space. Two smaller pockets sit on either side by the door, and one more small pocket is right overhead.

Quick Stash tie-backs let you secure open doors quickly and easily so they don't get in the way. Inside the tent you'll also find several loops for hanging gear lofts, accessories, or camp lighting.

The tent can also be used in **Fast Fly** mode, where you leave the inner tent at home and head out with just the pole structure, rainfly, and stakes. That gets you down to a fantastic weight of **1,710 grams**. You'll need the [**original footprint**](/p/big-agnes-salt-creek-3-footprint) though, which **isn't included in the package**. The footprint will also extend the life of your inner tent, so it's definitely worth having. If you don't want to get a footprint, consider at least using Tyvek.

## Materials and construction

- **Rainfly/floor** – ripstop polyester with a PU coating and a **1500 mm** water column
- **Inner tent** – breathable ripstop polyester and polyester mesh
- **Poles** – rugged, durable duralumin **DAC Pressfit** poles
- **Waterproof seams** – solvent-free polyurethane tape (contains no PVC or VOCs). **All seams are taped**, so there's no additional seam sealing or similar to do.
- **Stakes** – 8 x Dirt Dagger™ UL Stakes (17 cm long)
- **Pockets** – 4 interior mesh pockets, 1 ceiling mesh pocket, and 1 spacious 3D pocket in the foot area
- The tent is **freestanding**. This means it can stand on its own even without being staked out.
- Pitching the tent is **simple** and **intuitive**.

### 3 doors

Two classic side doors with vestibules are joined by an extra door at the front of the tent. You can pitch this wall using trekking poles to create an awning.

The tent can also be used in **Fast Fly –** mode, without the inner mosquito net, ultralight backpacking enthusiasts save 660 grams.
