It uses hollow microfibers, with membrane walls featuring pore sizes of up to 0,1 microns. With its low weight (70 g), high efficiency (99,999%), and long lifespan (3 000 000 liters), it ranks among the best in the world. Reliable travel water filter with high flow rate and a lifespan of 3 000 000 liters of filtered water. ## How it works The filter contains a large number of hollow U-shaped microfibers that trap contaminants while allowing the flow of clean, decontaminated water. The pore size is 0,1 microns; meaning anything larger is captured in the microfibers. The Sawyer Micro Squeeze filter guarantees the **removal of 99,99999% of all harmful bacteria** (Salmonella, cholera, E. coli, etc.), **parasitic protozoa** (Giardia and Cryptosporidium), **and 100% of microplastics**. ### **Package contents** - Sawyer Squeeze Water Filter (72 g) - Syringe for backflushing - 2x foldable bottle with a 2 l capacity and cap - 1x foldable bottle with a 0,5 l capacity and cap - Inline adapter for connection to a hydration bladder or gravity filtration - Adapter for backflushing using a PET bottle – or for easy filling of standard-threaded water bottles - Soft straw - Mesh stuff sack with a loop (can be used for gravity filtration) ## Usage and lifespan - Simply screw the filter onto a Sawyer bottle or another compatible bottle and squeeze. - You can drink directly from the filter – it comes with a sports cap (on/off) similar to those found on cycling bottles. Alternatively, you can filter water into a clean bottle. Compared to the [SAWYER MINI](/p/sawyer-single-mini) filter, it is larger and a few grams heavier, but it offers a faster flow rate (around 2 l/min). The first half-liter of filtered water might be slower, but once the internal fibers are fully saturated, the filter speeds up. With regular maintenance, the Sawyer Squeeze guarantees a lifespan of **over 3 000 000 liters of water**. [Video](https://youtu.be/lKWQjlq-uYA) ## Maintenance **Protect the filter from freezing.** If water freezes inside, it could damage the microfibers. From time to time, **backflush the filter using the provided syringe with clean water**, flushing in the opposite direction of filtration. Ideally, do this after every trip. We have used the Sawyer Squeeze filter on many treks, especially abroad. For example, during a trek across Iceland, where sheep contaminated practically all local water sources, the filter was essential. ## Specs - Color: Black / Blue - Maximum flow rate: 2 l/min - Lifespan: Lifetime - Filter removes: Bacteria, Cysts, Sediment, Microplastic particles - Filtration type: Mechanical - Bottle thread: 28 mm - Filter material: Hollow fiber - Material composition: Plastic, Hollow fiber - Weight: 72 g - Woocommerce product id: 18754 - Brand: Sawyer ## Related - [Katadyn BeFree Gravity 3 L](/p/katadyn-befree-gravity-3-l.md) - [Sawyer SP110 Hydration In-Line Adapters](/p/sawyer-hydration-system-adapter.md) - [Fizan RFP Touring](/p/fizan-rfp-touring.md) - [Sawyer 1 L – set of 3 pcs](/p/sawyer-1-l-bottle-set-3pcs.md) - [Nitecore NB20000 Power Bank GEN3](/p/nitecore-nb20000-power-bank-gen3.md) - [CNOC Hydriam 350 ml 28 mm](/p/cnoc-hydriam-350-ml-28-mm.md) - [CNOC Sport Cap 28 mm](/p/cnoc-sport-cap-28mm.md) - [Cumulus the Quilt 300](/p/cumulus-the-quilt-300.md) ## Shipping and returns - [Shipping and payment](/shipping-payment) - [Returns](/return-order) ## Images - ![Sawyer Squeeze SP131](https://media.gramino.com/medusa/269dcb3b071e78e94ce1c51f105b64d0-01KWHVHY7NSF9BF733MJNGJQ7N.jpg) - ![Sawyer Squeeze SP131](https://media.gramino.com/medusa/c7c022ba2861d4892ca9cfb597b3933c-01KWHVG52XQKAMAG65TC8YCXJ8.jpg) ## Identifiers - SKU: SP131 - EAN: 050716001310 - Handle: sawyer-squeeze-sp131 - Brand: Sawyer This product is also available as [HTML](/p/sawyer-squeeze-sp131).
