A delicious and nutritious meal is not just a reward after a long day on a long trek, but also an important source of energy for your body – for muscle recovery, to gather strength for the days ahead, and for a better mood. In our offer, you'll find a wide range of meals that provide comfort and enough nutrients without unnecessary weight in your backpack throughout the day.
Why choose food from our selection?
- Low weight – A standard serving of dehydrated food weighs around 100–130 grams, but once you add water, the weight goes up to 400–500 grams.
- Packability – Dehydrated and freeze-dried meals are packaged and often vacuum-sealed in bags that can be stacked on top of each other, taking up minimal space in your backpack.
- Quick and easy preparation – Just add hot water and in a few minutes (usually 5–10), you can enjoy a full meal.
- Great taste – In our selection, we only choose brands and foods that we would take on a trek ourselves. You'll find foods from brands Adventure Menu, REAL Turmat and Summit To Eat. We get freeze-dried cheeses from a Czech company LYO Potraviny and oat and protein bars from Moonvalley.
- Wide selection – We've got breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks to choose from. Plus, we've got options for meat lovers, vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free folks, and hikers with lactose intolerance. Make use of our clever filtering in the products and pick the right meal for you.
Energy for the whole day
Don't forget about snacks that will give you the energy you need throughout the day. Try some dried meat "jerky," nutritious trail mixes with nuts and dried fruit (like cranberries and goji), protein bars, or sports drinks to help replenish your electrolytes after a tough performance.
It's easier to carry without water
Freeze-dried meals have several advantages. First of all, they’re real meals that offer much better nutritional values and taste compared to instant soups. Instead of strange pasta mush that gets old after a few days, you can treat yourself to a real culinary experience even in the most remote parts of the world.
What is freeze-drying?
Freeze-drying is a method of drying by freezing, which is technically demanding, but it allows manufacturers to efficiently dehydrate complete meals so that all the nutrients are preserved and the great taste stays intact. Even though bagged meals might not look too appetizing at first glance, don’t let that put you off and dig in! You won’t regret it.
Packing size
Most freeze-dried meals come in two sizes – standard and large (also known as big pack) portions. On our trips, the standard pack of dried food has worked well for a quick lunch, while the larger version is perfect for a hearty dinner after a whole day on your feet. For a couple, it's best to combine one Standard and one Big Pack portion.
