Big Agnes
If you're an ultralight enthusiast, you've probably already heard of Big Agnes. Their tents are the most popular and commonly used on long-distance trails, striking the perfect balance between low weight, durability, and comfort. Big Agnes is constantly pulling new innovations out of the hat, continuously testing and improving their products.
Big Agnes is now considered one of the legendary American outdoor brands, and for good reason. Their tents, but also sleeping bags and additional gear, will make you feel at home even on the toughest trails, far surpassing the world of ultralight. You'll come across it among all adventurers from thru-hikers to bikepackers even for lovers of simple nature outings. It's no wonder that Big Agnes tents have been ranking high among the most used tents on long-distance trails for several years now, such as Pacific Crest Trail.
According to their own words, they're mainly trying to make and innovate gear that helps everyone enjoy outings in the mountains and nature to the fullest. Besides low weight, their top priorities include comfort and user-friendliness – they’re simply trying to come up with gear that will make all of us want to spend even more time outside.
For big and small adventures
Big Agnes is based in northwestern Colorado, which is perfect for testing all sorts of outdoor gear. Their team regularly checks and improves equipment right in the field, whether on trails, during bikepacking or climbing and skiing. Apart from the now legendary ultralight yet spacious tents, they've also come up with well-thought-out complete sleeping systems in recent years, like BA Lost Ranger UL, and last but not least, they're now getting into backpack development. The proof is in the well-designed BA Sweetwater UL 43L – backpack for fast and efficient movement in terrain.
Besides progress, they definitely think about sustainability – they've made their mark in the history of outdoor gear with a new eco-friendly method for dyeing ultralight tents in batches (the production process called “solution dyeing”), which not only significantly contributes to the sustainability of tent production for backpacking and bikepacking but also increases the durability of the materials used against uncompromising UV radiation.
New generation of tents
In 2025, Big Agnes came out with a new generation of tents that used a new innovative technology for material treatment – HyperBead™. The manufacturer claims that thanks to this advanced waterproof treatment, tents are lighter, stronger, and more durable than ever before. HyperBead™ doesn’t contain PFAS or other harmful substances, offering a safer and more sustainable alternative to standard water-repellent treatments without any negative impact on health and the environment. It also maintains its effectiveness throughout the tent's lifespan. At the same time, it stretches less in humidity, contributing to better stability and a longer lifespan of the material.
Among the tents with HyperBead technology, our selection includes, for example, the popular model BA Tiger Wall UL2, also a lightweight tent for one person – BA Copper Spur UL1, which is also made in a version for 2 and 3 people, and even in an extended version (BA Copper Spur UL2 XL).
Big Agnes and Gramino
Our team at Gramino was mainly attracted by the offer of their well-tested ultralight tents. In our range, you’ll find shelters not only for fans of minimalism but also for those looking for a reliable shelter for trips made of tougher materials, like for example Big Agnes C Bar 2. Among the roomier models of this brand, for example, BA Salt Creek SL2, where you'll find 3 doors right away and plenty of extra storage space. If you're looking to save as many grams as possible and you're traveling solo, then go for something like BA Fly Creek UL1. Besides tents, Big Agnes also makes other tent accessories, like footprints tailored to each model, systems of lighting or additional storage spaces BA Gear Loft Triangle, BA Gear Loft Wall and more.
