Ultralight three-season tent for two people designed for bikepacking, based on the foundations of a proven tent. The bikepack version of Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 is more compact when packed and comes in a special waterproof cover that can be attached to the handlebars.
Why is the product exceptional?
The tent is designed for two people and has two entrances and two vestibules. Both sleepers have their own entrance and enough space for equipment. All zippers have dual sliders and are equipped with ergonomic pull tabs. The rainfly has zippers protected by a storm flap with Velcro.
In the Copper Spur, you will definitely appreciate plenty of pockets and storage space. The largest pocket (the so-called 3D bin) can be found at the ceiling above your feet. Three smaller flat pockets are located above your head. One of these pockets has an opening in the corner. Here at Big Agnes, they thought of those who like to listen to music – you can place your mobile in the upper pocket and run the headphone cable through the opening. You will also find two additional small flat pockets at the doors on the sides. There are also several loops for hanging necessary gear or drying clothes.

The rainfly is not tightened all the way to the ground, which ensures better air circulation and minimizes the chance of internal condensation. To prevent water from splashing into the tent during heavy rain, the inner tent features waterproof material along the sides, extending from the ground up to a height of approximately 50 cm. The rainfly is equipped with one vent with a mosquito net.
The construction of the tent is easier thanks to the thoughtful TipLok Tent Buckle™ device in the corners of the tent, which has three functions: securing the pole structure, tensioning and attaching the rainfly to the tent body, and staking out.
To ensure extra stability, there are Velcro strips on the inner side of the rainfly, which allow you to attach the rainfly to the structure.
The tent can also be used in Fast Fly mode, where you leave the bedroom (inner tent) at home and go out with just the structure, rainfly, and stakes. This gives you a beautiful weight of 1 160 grams. However, you will need original footprint, which is not included in the package. A footprint will also extend the life of the tent body floor, so it is useful to have. If you don't want to buy a footprint, consider at least using tyvek.
The tent structure is simple, quick, and intuitive. The construction consists of lightweight and durable DAC Featherlite aluminum poles.

The new versions of the Copper Spur tents allow you to create an awning-style vestibule from the rainfly, which you can set up using trekking poles or other poles or branches.
This awning, or canopy if you prefer, will provide you with shade and a chill zone on hot days. On warmer nights, you can ventilate beautifully, leave your gear in the vestibules, and still be protected from the dew.
You can easily customize the tent to your needs and mood.

The version of the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 tent designed for bikepacking has shorter segments of the pole structure, which measure 30 cm when packed instead of 50 cm. This allows the poles to easily fit on your handlebars, into a saddlebag, or anywhere else. The tent also comes with a sturdy waterproof bag, which lets you attach the tent and poles to the handlebars.
On the outer side of the rainfly, we will find a sewn strap with loops for drying wet gear and clothing.
The tent is also equipped with a special storage space for a helmet – on the outside of the mosquito netting, there is an elastic strap for securing the helmet.
Footprint of the tent (not included in the package) is extended and forms the floor even in the vestibules. You can store equipment in them without having to place it directly on the ground.

The rainfly and the tent body floor are constructed from silicone-coated double ripstop nylon, which is additionally treated with a PU coating on the inner side. The combination of these two treatments (silicone + coating) ensures excellent waterproofness. The qualities of this tent are further evidenced by annual research on the most commonly used equipment in long-distance races, where it has been placing in the TOP 5 for several years in a row.
All seams are taped with waterproof polyurethane tape that is solvent-free (PVC and VOC free). There will be no additional seam sealing or similar treatments required.
The tent's structure consists of one durable DAC Featherlite NFL pole. The tent is free-standing.
The new ultralight and durable Dirt Dagger UL Tent Stakes are constructed from aluminum, feature a patented I-beam design, and are 15 cm long.
