TOAKS Stove Frame
This simple wire frame is designed for

Fire has been the foundation of life since prehistoric times, and it remains essential for your adventures — whether you’re bikepacking or hiking with lightweight backpack. Nothing makes you happier at the end of a long day on the trail like mess tin filled with a hearty hot dinner.
In the Gramino range, you’ll find several types of stoves. If you want to rely on the classics and you like solutions that are somewhat “dummy-proof”, go for a gas stove, which lets you whip up meals on the go, even in windy conditions, with a little practice.
Gas stoves have high output, are compact, durable, and easy and comfy to work with. If weight and packability aren’t your main concerns and price is what matters most to you, the classic Czech option VAR VAR 2 will probably be perfect for you. If you’re part of the “gram-counters” group, you’ll be more drawn to the popular MSR PocketRocket 2. Depending on the chosen fuel canister, you’ll be able to cook up a storm with gas stoves even at high altitudes or in low temperatures. In the wind, you’ll also appreciate accessories like an ultralight windbreak or stabilizer for fuel canister. Gas stoves are just reliable buddies for tough times, where you can prepare your favorite meal in no time.
If you’ve got ultralight in your heart, then you can try an alcohol stove, which does require a bit of skill and practice, but it’s really incredibly light and compact. Among our favorites is the 9-gram aluminum stove from a Slovak manufacturer Emo Outdoor, or a bit more robust, but heavier alcohol stove from TOAKS. Basically, it’s a simple container for liquid alcohol (we recommend using fuel for bio fireplaces), which various manufacturers enhance with different features, like windbreak or stand. With an alcohol stove, you simply pour in the desired amount of alcohol, light it, and let it burn. Another advantage of the alcohol stove is that you can take exactly the amount of fuel you need for that trek. Liquid alcohol is also available worldwide, so you don’t have to worry about compatibility between the canister and the gas stove. The downside of liquid alcohol stoves is the lower performance – it takes a bit longer to boil water compared to gas stoves. They also usually lack the option for regulation.
The third type of stove in our offer is called wood-burning stove that is, a solid fuel stove. The wood-burning stove is especially popular among adventurers heading into deep forests, where there’s always plenty of natural fuel available. Essentially, it’s a small, lightweight, portable fire pit that provides the necessary draw to the fire thanks to its smart ventilation. The performance of the wood-burning stove, of course, depends on the fuel used and your skill – it’s mainly suited for backwoods campers who aren’t afraid to improvise a bit, aren’t in a hurry, but just don’t want to rely on open fires (or don’t want to set them up).
If you’re heading out on more challenging expeditions where speed and cooking efficiency are a priority, then the basic types of stoves probably won’t suit you in some way. On such trips, you’ll really appreciate a well-designed Jetboil cooking system, which packs away in a compact size but hides incredible power and smart regulation, works great even in the wind, and perfectly utilizes the entire canister. Its downside is a higher purchase price.
If you love the north and are preparing for trips in particularly freezing temperatures, then a stove MSR Windburner Group Stove System will keep you warm. It comes with a handy pressure regulator and built-in windscreen with a heat exchanger. This stove speeds up cooking in the coldest temperatures. The pressure regulator ensures an optimal fuel supply to the burner, which is especially useful in low temperatures. Besides the mentioned Windburner, this feature is also equipped in, for example, MSR PocketRocket® Deluxe, Jetboil MicroMo, Jetboil MiniMo and Jetboil Sumo.
