Weight
A tried-and-true ultralight three-season tent for one person from the American brand Big Agnes. It's one of the most commonly used tents on long-distance trails like the AT, PCT, and CDT. If low weight is your priority, then the Fly Creek tent is the right choice for you. The tent material is now equipped with the innovative HyperBead™ technology, which makes it even lighter, stronger, and more waterproof.
Who is it good for?

The new Fly Creek tent models for 2025 feature the innovative HyperBead™ technology, which boosts material strength, ups water resistance, and cuts down on weight all at once (more info below).
The tent is spacious enough for 1 person. Thanks to its design with steeper walls, it has a greater inner height and a bigger front entrance. The single-pole construction increases the usable space inside the tent and in the vestibule without adding weight.
The tent has one front door with a spacious vestibule for storing your gear. The rainfly is equipped with two zip sliders and a storm flap with Velcro. Setting it up day or night is made easier with reflective guy lines and color-coded elements of the tent. Inside the tent, you'll find loops for attaching gear lofts and other equipment.
Setting up your tent is a breeze thanks to the clever TipLok Tent Buckle™ in the corners, which has three functions: securing the pole structure, attaching and tightening the rainfly to the tent body, and staking down.
Ample storage space is provided by two side pockets and one large ceiling pocket. The ceiling pocket features corner openings designed specifically for those who enjoy listening to music – you can place your phone in the top pocket and route your headphone cable through the opening.

The pole runs down the center at the feet, so the back wall is always nicely tensioned in the middle, which creates more usable space in the foot area and reduces the chance of your sleeping bag footbox sticking to the damp rainfly because of condensation.
To ensure better air ventilation and reduce any potential condensation, we recommend using the zip slider on the rainfly at the entrance. With two sliders, you can partially open the zip from the bottom and the top. Keeping the inner tent doors open is made easy with the Quick Stash holder.
For extra stability, there are Velcro strips on the inner side of the rainfly that you can use to connect the rainfly to the structure.
You can also use the tent in Fast Fly mode, where you leave the tent body (inner tent) at home and head out just with the poles, rainfly, and stakes. This way, you get down to a nice weight of 595 grams. But you'll need original footprint, which is not included in the package. The footprint will also extend the lifespan of the tent body. Alternatively, we recommend using at least Tyvek.

In 2025, Big Agnes is rolling out a new innovative material treatment technology for ultralight tents – HyperBead™. Thanks to this advanced waterproof treatment, the tents are lighter, stronger, and more durable than ever before. HyperBead™ is free of PFAS and other harmful substances, giving you a safer and more sustainable alternative to standard water-repellent treatments without negatively impacting your health and the environment.
Compared to regular materials, tents with HyperBead™ technology have:
Unlike regular DWR treatments, HyperBead™ is waterproof on a molecular level, so it keeps its effectiveness throughout the tent's lifespan. Plus, it stretches less when wet, which helps improve stability and gives the material a longer life.
