The Continental Divide Trail isn't for the faint of heart – you can see for yourself in the interview with Pavel Sabela or with Martin and Kuba from DvaNaTahu. You can hit this trail on your own, but it's a lot smarter to go with a great-fitting pair of moisture-wicking socks. Thanks to the cushioning in the footbed, they absorb impact while you're walking. Holes in your socks won’t hold you back, since you can exchange them for new ones under the lifetime warranty. Darn Tough sends 5% of the sales from these socks to an association CDTC, that takes care of the trail.

Merino socks don’t need to be washed after every wear. Merino wool is naturally antibacterial and resistant to odors. In fact, washing them less frequently extends their durability. Therefore, you can wash the socks after a few days of wear or even after a month — it’s all about your personal preferences.
Before washing, turn the socks inside out.
Wash in the washing machine on a gentle cycle or in warm water. If your washing machine has a wool cycle, you can use this setting. If you’re washing the socks while trekking in the wild, we recommend multi-purpose cleaner Sea To Summit, which is gentle on both the environment and your socks and skin. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.
Leave the socks to dry in the dryer on a low temperature or ideally air dry them.
What to avoid: High heat and aggressive chemicals can damage the properties of merino wool fibers. To ensure your socks last as long as possible, keep these 4 rules in mind:
Do not clean chemically.
