Origin

The coffee comes from farmers of the La Secreta Association of Ecological Farmers (AGROSEC), originally founded to empower and support a group of 40 farmers living in the Magdalena province of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range. This range is just 45 km from the Caribbean coast, making it the world's highest coastal mountain range and one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. The vast range of ecosystems, from the hot beaches of the Caribbean Sea to dry forests, dense lowland jungles, high-altitude rainforests, and snow-capped 6 000-meter peaks, creates an ideal environment for coffee cultivation. Thanks to this diversity, the farmers are self-sufficient, cultivating intercropped produce like bananas, corn, and avocados for their own consumption.
