BANDIT
Frameless backpack BANDIT from the German brand Hyberg is an ultralight backpack with a volume of 40 l, made from waterproof X-Pac material. It will be a great partner for your weekend hikes, but with a well-tuned ultralight setup, you can tackle even much longer treks with it.
BANDIT is made from the same materials as its bigger and bulkier brother ATTILA, most of the components have remained intact. However, in the quest for even greater minimalism and weight reduction, the BANDIT backpack doesn't have a foam back support and a padded hip belt – it’s a pure frameless backpack. Still, this doesn't take away from its comfort; you just need to pay more attention when packing and keep the weight of your essential gear as low as possible.
The size of the backpack is universal and it fits back lengths (torso) from 45 to 65 cm. The total weight of the backpack is 480 grams, which includes 40 grams for the removable hip belt, 15 grams for the removable chest strap, and 10 grams for the elastic cord.
Specifications
Frameless construction – even though it requires more attention when packing, once you get used to it, it offers incredible comfort, flexibility, and great body shape adjustment. We recommend putting an inflatable sleeping pad folded up against your back inside or sitting pad, optionally attach a seat pad or a folded foam sleeping pad to the outside of your backpack using the stretchy cords located on the sides.
Roll-top closure – one main compartment with a roll-top closing and three-point fastening (straps with buckles for compression or attaching extra gear), adjustable height and volume of the backpack depending on how much you’ve packed.
Load lifters – tighten the top part of the backpack to your body for better stabilization and weight distribution.
Wide shoulder straps with stretchy pockets – especially with a frameless backpack, you'll appreciate the wide, comfy, and nicely padded shoulder straps. On both shoulder straps, there are pockets made of durable stretchy material that can hold a small water bottle or little things you want to have handy (sunglasses, tissues, snacks...).
Side pockets – the side pockets of the backpack with an elastic hem at the top are spacious and deep enough to hold two 1.5 l bottles that you can easily reach while walking without having to take the pack off your back. They are made of strong and durable 210D HDPE Gridstop material with a DWR finish. At the bottom of the pockets, you'll find a drainage hole to prevent water from collecting during rain and allow it to drain out.
Elastic kangaroo pocket – on the back of the backpack, there's a spacious pocket made of durable stretchy mesh material, perfect for a waterproof jacket, toilet trowel, stakes, and similar gear.
Side drawcords (10 g) – for compression or securing gear on the sides like trekking poles, foam sleeping pads, etc., side drawcords with Linelok will do the trick. You can also adjust them for external attachment of the sleeping pad on your back as extra padding.
Adjustable hip belt (40 g) – a simple hip belt that mainly serves to stabilize your backpack or attach additional pockets. You can either remove the belt completely or adjust it 5 cm higher, thanks to two small handles on the sides of the backpack. This is especially appreciated by folks with a shorter back length.
Adjustable chest strap (15 g) – you can move the chest strap up and down or remove it if you need to leave it at home.
Hydration bladder compatibility – this backpack is compatible with using a hydration bladder, and there's an opening between the shoulder straps to route the hose.

Materials
The backpack is constructed from material X-Pac® VX07S. The side pockets and the top side of the shoulder straps are made from 210D HDPE Gridstop material with DWR treatment. The stretch pockets are made from durable nylon.
X-Pac® VX07 Ripstop Soft is a 4-layer laminated material with high durability, waterproof construction, low stretch, and weight, while still keeping a nice softness.
The material consists of these layers:

- 70 denier ripstop nylon fabric
- recycled polyester fibers X-PLY®
- 50 denier polyester fabric

The main material (fabric) of the backpack is 100% waterproof, but please pay attention to the fact that the seams of the backpack are not sealed. This means that the backpack is not fully waterproof.
