German brand of ultralight outdoor equipment Hyberg came to the market with an affordable, well-crafted down quilt LONER tekk 450 designed for all minimalists who also appreciate quality.
Thanks to the zipper located at the bottom, the quilt can be completely unzipped and easily transformed into a blanket that will fully replace your duvet.
The weight of the quilt (without straps for securing and compression sack) in size L is just 625 grams. With the straps and in the compression sack, the total weight is beautiful 690 grams. You will barely feel that weight on your back!
The manufacturer rates the comfort temperature of this quilt at -2 °C. It is therefore a three-season quilt, ideal from spring to autumn. Hardy individuals can also use it in mild winter with a good sleeping pad.
The quilt comes with a compression sack (34 grams), 2 straps (31 grams) for attachment to the sleeping pad, and a mesh storage bag.
Materials and construction
The insulation of the quilt consists of 450 grams of high-quality goose down with a fill power of 850 cuin, so the quilt will quickly become beautifully fluffy after being unpacked and shaken. The down is treated with a hydrophobic DWR coating for better moisture resistance.
The outer layer is made of a new breathable, lightweight, fine yet durable and eco-friendly material 10D Lodus (100% Ripstop Nylon) with a water-repellent DWR treatment that retains light condensation or a few drops of water.
The quality of the material is pleasantly surprising, and thanks to the use of a combination of longitudinal and vertical chambers (H-construction), the distribution of down is more even. This allows for maximum heat retention, as the down does not clump together or settle in the corners.
On the back side, there is a 60cm YKK zipper in the foot area that can be completely unzipped, transforming the quilt into a blanket/duvet. At the feet, the quilt is equipped with a drawstring that allows you to create a closed foot box for your feet.
At the top, you can snap the quilt around your neck. Of course, there is also a drawstring for the upper collar made with elastic cord and an offset chamber filled with down to minimize heat loss around the neck.
