Who is it suitable for?

Contour 35 from the popular American brand Hyperlite Mountain Gear is the simplest and lightest frameless backpack from their offer. It is designed for true minimalists for whom even the standard volume of 40+ liters is too large.
The internal volume of the Contour backpack is 35 liters, and the external pockets can hold additional gear with a volume of up to 6,5 liters. This makes it clear that all your equipment must be meticulously planned, compact, and lightweight to comfortably pack everything you need for several days of hiking. With a well-tuned ultralight setup and the Contour 35 backpack, you can also hike various long-distance trails while carrying food for about 2-4 days.
The backpack will be appreciated not only by experienced ultralight thru-hikers but also by those embarking on shorter trips, weekend hikes, or one-day technical mountain climbs.
The backpack is durable, comfortable, adaptable, reliable, and carefully thought out down to the smallest details – from roll-top closure to the detachable hip belt and 6 external pockets.

Backpack closure: The backpack features the traditional and proven roll-top closure system.
Hip belt: Removable hip belt with metal buckles for maximum durability.
Side straps: Side vertical straps for connection with roll-top closure provide additional compression.
Upper compression strap: A simple strap with a metal buckle for the possibility of compression and securing equipment.
Shoulder straps with pockets: The shoulder straps made of 100D Dyneema® Gridstop material have a wider design and two integrated stretch pockets made of Dyneema® Stretch Mesh UL. The pockets are perfect for a phone, sunglasses, snacks, and candies, but they can also fit small water bottles. The top edge of the pockets can be tightened with an elastic cord.
Chest strap: The redesigned chest strap allows for arbitrary placement in the vertical direction along the shoulder straps. Additionally, a whistle is located on the buckle of the chest strap.
Buckle/straps: Reduced buckles and straps reduce weight without compromising durability. Removable compression straps on the sides of the backpack are made of a simple thin cord, ideal for securing trekking poles or tent poles placed in the side pockets.

Taped seams: The material of the backpack is waterproof, and all vertical seams are additionally taped with waterproof tape, which enhances the overall water resistance of the backpack.
Large stretch pocket: The large stretch pocket on the front provides important storage space and quick access for items such as a wet tent/tarp, water filter, tent stakes, waterproof jacket, etc. The pocket is made of lightweight and durable Dyneema® Stretch Mesh UL material. At the top, the pocket is additionally equipped with a buckle for fastening and closure.
Side pockets: The truly spacious side pockets are equipped with a drawstring and can easily accommodate 2-liter bottles or additional gear. They are made from 100D Dyneema® Gridstop material.
Bottom pocket (trash pocket): The lower stretch pocket is made of durable Dyneema® Stretch Mesh and is ideal for easy access to snacks, a waterproof jacket, or trash.
Loops: The backpack has several loops for attaching additional gear – a loop for an ice axe (which can be tucked inside the backpack when not in use), a loop for grabbing the backpack, and 6 small loops on the sides of the outer front pocket.
Compatible accessories (sold separately): fanny pack Versa, camera pouch Camera Pod, waterproof stuff sacks and organizers Side Entry Pod, Gear Pods and Roll-Top Stuff Sack.

Dyneema® fiber is a revolutionary material not only in the outdoor industry. With its remarkable strength-to-weight ratio, it is the strongest fiber in the world. Dyneema® fibers are 15x stronger than high-quality steel, lightweight, abrasion-resistant, waterproof, and resistant to UV radiation and chemicals.
The HMG Contour 35 backpack (available in both white and black) is constructed from hybrid composite Dyneema® fabrics—Dyneema® Composite Hybrid 3.8 (120 g/m², DCH50) and Dyneema® Composite Hybrid 5.1 (170 g/m², DCH150) on the bottom and back panel.
This material is created by combining and laminating multiple layers with Dyneema® fibers, resulting in high abrasion resistance, exceptional strength, excellent rip-stop properties, and moisture impermeability.
Although the material itself is 100% waterproof, stitching creates tiny perforations. While most seams in the backpack are taped, it cannot be considered completely waterproof. For full protection against water and moisture, we recommend using the backpack with waterproof dry bags.
