LifeStraw Peak Series Activated Carbon Filter Add-on is a replacement filter that combines activated carbon and ion exchange for effective reduction of heavy metals (including lead, mercury, cadmium, copper, and chromium III), chlorine, odors, and organic chemicals in water. It significantly improves the taste of water while maintaining flow rate. It’s used as an add-on accessory for water filters from the series LifeStraw Peak Series – it simply screws between the membrane filter and the outlet (mouthpiece, lid, or hose).

Maintenance
The activated carbon filter is low maintenance – it doesn't require backflushing or chemical cleaning. Once you hit the 100-liter capacity, it loses its effectiveness and you'll need to swap it out for a new one. Between uses, just keep it dry and out of direct sunlight.
