Liteway Scout Tarp 3P is a three-season shelter for 2-3 people with one entrance. This ultralight tarp sets up using a single trekking pole and boasts a hexagonal pyramid shape, providing high resistance to wind and rain. Weighing just 540 g and with compact packed dimensions, it's the perfect choice for treks where every gram counts.

Scout Tarp
Pyramid-shaped tents and tarps are really awesome when it comes to wind resistance. If the tent is well tensioned and anchored, it practically has nowhere to collapse in strong winds. It also holds up great against rain, as the steep walls let the water just run off. The Scout Tarp is meant for 2-3 people and is suitable for folks who are 185+ cm tall.
The setup of the tarp is super simple. Just lay it out in a regular hexagonal shape, stake down the corners, and prop up the top with a trekking pole set to about 165 cm. If you have shorter poles, you can join two poles together or use Liteway Tent Carbon Pole (size Medium). Never stick the sharp tips of your poles directly into the top of the tarp. You can then tension the other guy lines as needed; all walls are equipped with anchor points.
Stakes are not included in the package. You'll need at least 6 stakes for the setup, but it's better to arm yourself with at least eight.

Watch out, the seams aren't taped! Since the tarp is made from silicone-coated polyester, you can't tape it with waterproof polyurethane strips like with most tents (it doesn't stick to the silicone surface). You need to seal the seams with silicone glue/coating from the outside before using it. You can use Gear Aid Seam Grip +Sil 28g or you can prepare a sealant at home from sanitary silicone and paint thinner (white spirit, in a ratio of about 1:2, with a consistency like oil).
