Nitecore NU33
The Nitecore NU33 is a compact and powerful headlamp with a rechargeable battery. It features three light sources.
The main white light with an output of up to 700 lumens offers a long beam range and a clearly defined hotspot, making it ideal for walking, running, and other outdoor activities. The secondary light provides a short-range beam with a wide angle and warm CRI 90 white light, suitable for reading and work purposes. The third source is red light, which reduces glare and is useful for signaling.
The headlamp has a beam range of 135 meters.
It is powered by a rechargeable Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 2 000 mAh, offering a runtime equivalent to nine AAA batteries. The battery is recharged via a USB-C connector. Charging status and remaining power are indicated by four small blue LEDs on the side of the headlamp.

Modes
The Nitecore NU33 offers three brightness levels for the main white light, two brightness levels for the secondary CRI light, and two modes for the red light. The headlamp also features SOS signaling and quick flashing beacon mode.
The headlamp includes special modes:
- The red light can be set to steady or flashing mode. The red color is excellent for gentle illumination as it does not disrupt vision, and the human eye quickly readjusts to the dark when the headlamp is turned off.
- The CRI LED is ideal for tasks like reading maps, as it minimizes color distortion.
- The white LED provides high performance, making it ideal for dynamic activities.
Controls
The headlamp is operated with two buttons. Turn the headlamp on with a long press of either the Power or Mode button. Similarly, turn it off with a long press of any button.
The Power button is primarily used to switch between different brightness levels (mid – high – turbo). The Mode button is used to toggle between the three LED light sources (main white, CRI white, red light).
A double press of the Power button activates the Ultralow CRI mode (minimum output of 6 lumens), which is suitable for reading.
A double press of the Mode button activates the SOS mode, and a subsequent press of the Power button switches to the beacon mode.
The buttons can be locked by pressing and holding both buttons simultaneously, preventing accidental activation in a backpack or pocket.
The controls may not feel completely intuitive at first, but after reading the manual, you'll quickly get the hang of it.
