The improved version of the popular sleeping bag line from the Czech manufacturer Patizon, now made from a combination of Pertex and Toray materials. It maintains its low weight, thermal insulation properties, incredible comfort, and packability, while also increasing durability. The D 590 model is the ideal choice from spring to autumn, but it can handle mild winter conditions as well.
What makes the product special?
Incredibly comfortable and well-designed three-season sleeping bag made in the Czech Republic.
Materials
On the inner and outer sides of the sleeping bag, they’ve newly used a combination of two proven ultralight fabrics: Pertex Quantum (32 g/m2) and Toray Airtastic (38 g/m2) with a long-lasting water-repellent DWR treatment. This way, the sleeping bag keeps its low weight while offering even more comfort and higher mechanical resistance. Both of these functional materials are eco-friendly and made from 100% recycled nylon.
The sleeping bag is size M and filled with 590 grams of duck down with a minimum fill power of 700+ cuin. The down to small feathers ratio is 90/10. The down is hypoallergenic and meets the criteria for certification according to IDFL a RDS. The insulation fill in the sleeping bag is distributed in a 50:50 ratio (top part : bottom part).
The weight of the sleeping bag in size S is 844 grams, M is 920 grams, and size L is 984 grams. The difference in weight compared to the original line Dpro is only about 15 grams.
Sleeping bags D are available in four color options – blue, green, red, and anthracite.
Construction
The mummy shape naturally follows the curves of your body, which reduces weight and increases thermal efficiency. Compared to the Patizon G series, it’s more comfortable – wider in the legs and shoulders. The Z-shaped chamber construction ensures even distribution of insulation in the chambers while also preventing cold spots at the seams. The width of the sleeping bag at ear level is 60 cm (S/M), 62 cm (L), at the shoulders 67 cm (S/M), 72 cm (L), at the hips 60 cm (S/M), 64 cm (L), and at the feet 32 cm (S/M), 33 cm (L).
The sleeping bag in size S is suitable for people with a height between 156-170 cm, size M for people with a height between 171-185 cm, and size L for people with a height of 186-200 cm.
The anatomically shaped footbox gives you the perfect down distribution in the chambers throughout your sleep. There are also loops for hanging the sleeping bag, like for drying it out.
Features
The hood collar is filled with Climashield synthetic insulation, which better withstands exhaled moisture and pressure from the drawcord. The hood adjustment is one-touch and positioned for maximum accessibility and comfort. The hood itself is anatomically shaped and allows for head movement both lying down and sitting up.
Sleeping bags are equipped on the inside with a continuous chamber running the full length of the zipper. This way, there are no heat leaks over the zipper area. The spacious inner pocket measuring 20 x 12 cm can hold everything you want to have quickly at hand or need to protect from the cold – from your phone to spare batteries to a water filter.
Just like with the Dpro model, the zipper is located on the top side. This kind of zipper has better insulation properties, lower weight, and is easier to zip up. The zipper is positioned on the left side of the sleeping bag.
A quality YKK zipper is much smoother compared to competing sleeping bags (3 mm thickness compared to the usual 6 mm) to reduce weight and heat loss. The zipper works in two positions. In the GO position, the zipper simply opens when you pull on the fabric. In the STOP position, the zipper is locked and doesn’t open. Thanks to the zipper with two sliders, you can easily regulate the temperature in the sleeping bag in warmer conditions.
Sleeping bag accessories
The sleeping bag comes with a compression sack that can reduce the volume of the sleeping bag by up to 13 times. The dimensions before and after compression in the compression sack are 21 x 36,5 cm / 20 x 27 cm. The volume of the compression sack is 10,4 l.
To keep your sleeping bag from being unnecessarily compressed while stored at home, you'll also get a fabric sack for storing it.
