Materials
For the outer and inner side of the sleeping bag, top-quality Toray™ Airtastic™ fabric is used. This material is made from 100% recycled nylon, has a very low weight (38 g/m), but is also strong, windproof, and incredibly pleasant to the touch. The fabric is treated with a water-repellent DWR C6 coating, which is highly effective and more environmentally friendly. The long-term effectiveness of the DWR treatment is 80% after twenty wash cycles. The side straight semi-automatic zip SHZ located on the left side features two sliders and is made from recycled nylon.
The sleeping bag in size M is filled with 300 grams of high-quality recycled down with a fill power of at least 650 cuin. The ratio of down to small feathers is 90/10. The down comes from a German supplier and has certification GRS (Global Recycled Standard). The insulating filling is distributed in the sleeping bag in a ratio of 50:50 (top part : bottom part).
The weight of the sleeping bag in size S is 630 g, size M is 675 g, and size L is 720 g.
As with all sleeping bags from the Patizon brand, the production of the R series sleeping bags is also localized in the Czech Republic.
Construction
The mummy shape naturally follows the curves of the human body, reducing weight and increasing thermal insulation efficiency. The Patizon sleeping bags from the R series are cut similarly to the sleeping bags from the Dpro series, making them spacious and very comfortable. They differ slightly in the design of the hood, which is simplified in the R series sleeping bags but still wide and fully adjustable.
Z-shaped chamber construction ensure even distribution of insulation within the chambers and prevent the creation of so-called cold spots at the seams. The width of the sleeping bag at the ear level is 60 cm (S/M), 62 cm (L), at the shoulders 67 cm (S/M), 72 cm (L), at the hips 60 cm (S/M), 64 cm (L), and at the feet 32 cm (S/M), 33 cm (L). According to the manufacturer, the size S sleeping bag is suitable for individuals with a height between 156-170 cm, size M for individuals with a height between 171-185 cm, and size L for individuals with a height of 186-200 cm.
Anatomically shaped foot box provides ideal down distribution in the chambers throughout sleep. At the bottom, there are also loops for hanging the sleeping bag, for example, during drying or storage.
Features
- The hood is simplified, yet sufficiently wide, adjustable, and enhances insulation capabilities. A small pillow fits comfortably directly into the hood.
- The internal collar in the shoulder and neck area is very well-designed and can be tightened with one hand. Additionally, it prevents heat loss and does not require additional fastening with Velcro, snaps, or magnets.
- Sleeping bags are equipped on the inside with a down-filled insulating tube along the entire length of the zipper. This prevents heat loss through the zipper area.
- A spacious internal pocket measuring 20 x 12 cm can hold everything that needs to be quickly at hand or protected from freezing – from a mobile phone to spare batteries and even a water filter.
- Anatomically shaped foot box ensures comfort and thermal comfort. It is constructed to evenly distribute down around the feet and to prevent unnecessary compression.
- The high-quality SHZ zipper in yellow with an ergonomic pull tab is much finer compared to competing sleeping bags (thickness 3 mm versus the usual 6 mm) to reduce weight and thermal losses. The zipper operates in two positions (GO – the zipper easily slides open by pulling on the fabric, STOP – the zipper is locked and does not slide open). Thanks to the two sliders, the temperature inside the sleeping bag can be adjusted more easily in warmer conditions.
- A large storage fabric bag and a compression stuff sack with a volume of 4,2 liters are included with the sleeping bag. The compression sack can reduce the sleeping bag's volume by up to 13x. Before compression, the stuff sack has dimensions of 25 x 15 cm, and after compression, it measures 19 x 15 cm.
