Micro Squeeze is a smaller and lighter version of the classic Sawyer Squeeze water filter. However, it maintains the same filtration efficiency and flow rate. With its low weight of just 52 grams, high filtration efficiency, and long lifespan, it ranks among the best in the world.

The filter contains a large number of hollow U-shaped microfibers that trap contaminants while allowing the flow of clean, decontaminated water. The pore size is 0,1 microns; meaning anything larger is captured in the microfibers.
The Sawyer Micro Squeeze filter guarantees the removal of 99,99999% of all harmful bacteria (Salmonella, cholera, E. coli, etc.), parasitic protozoa (Giardia and Cryptosporidium), and 100% of microplastics.
The first filtered half-liter may be slower, but once the internal fibers are fully saturated, the filter will increase in speed. The flow rate of this filter is approximately 1,5 l/min.
With regular maintenance, the Sawyer Micro Squeeze guarantees a lifespan of over 378 000 liters of water.

Protect the filter from freezing. If water freezes inside, it could damage the microfibers. From time to time, backflush the filter using the provided syringe with clean water, flushing in the opposite direction of filtration. Ideally, do this after every trip.
We have used the Sawyer Squeeze filter on many treks, especially abroad. For example, during a trek across Iceland, where sheep contaminated practically all local water sources, the filter was essential.
The Sawyer Micro Squeeze is also smaller and, according to the manufacturer, maintains the same flow rate as the larger Sawyer Squeeze.
