Specifications
The goal of Sea To Summit was not to bring the lightest tent to the market, but a tent that would excel in every aspect. The designers took their time with development; although the Sea To Summit tents were in the making for several years, we believe it was worth it.
The tent features a unique Tension Ridge construction (a pole that runs across the tent). This design offers several advantages:
- more space in the interior in the shoulder and head area
- steeper walls ensure better water drainage during rain
- great ventilation and minimized condensation inside
- more spacious vestibule
The Telos TR3 provides ample interior space for three sleepers, featuring two entrances and two vestibules. Sleepers thus have sufficient space for their gear as well. The tent has a free-standing construction, meaning it stands even without staking. All zippers have two sliders and are equipped with ergonomic pulls. The rainfly has zippers protected by a storm flap with hook-and-loop fasteners.
Features and details
- Ultralight yet durable tent construction (pole) DAC NSL with color-coded components for easy and quick tent setup.
- Maximum durability and excellent waterproof properties thanks to premium materials including DAC poles, YKK zippers, aluminum components, and taped seams PEU.
- The Hangout mode, which transforms the tent into a semi-open shelter. It requires a pair of trekking poles or a set of original STS poles.
- FairShare storage system: you can pack the tent into three bags, which you can fairly distribute among the sleepers. You can use the individual bags inside the tent as pockets for storing gear, keeping everything you need within reach.
- Light pole: the tent pole cover also serves as a light diffuser. Simply insert a headlamp into it and attach it inside the tent above your head.
- The rainfly can be set up first for a comfortable setup in the rain.
- The package includes 10 Ground Control tent stakes and 4 removable guy lines.
- To extend the life of the tent floor, we recommend using a footprint Sea to Summit Telos - sold separately, or at least tyvek.
- The tent can accommodate Sea To Summit sleeping pads: 2 large rectangular or 3 regular mummy or 2 regular + 1 large mummy (one sleeping pad needs to be turned).
Materials and construction
- The inner 15 cm raised floor with a "bathtub" is constructed from 20D nylon with a water column of 2500 mm – it is lightweight, waterproof, and durable.
- Very lightweight inner mesh made of 15D polyester ensures maximum ventilation. Its dark gray color provides excellent visibility.
- The rainfly made of 15D nylon with a waterproof coating of silicone/polyether polyurethane (PeU) ensures long-lasting waterproofing and durability.
- Tension Ridge System - provides significantly more living space.
- Apex Vent ventilation openings - at the highest point of the tent, there is a large ventilation opening that effectively removes warm air to prevent condensation. It can be easily closed with a zipper from inside the tent.
- Quick Connect Foot Clip - the aluminum clips in the corners of the rainfly easily attach to the inner tent. They are sturdier than plastic buckles that can break.
