The repair kit for patching sleeping pads represents a reliable way to effectively and permanently repair a sleeping pad. It is suitable for self-inflating and inflatable NeoAir sleeping pads from Therm-a-Rest. The kit includes: 4 colored fabric patches, 2 transparent adhesive patches, 2 alcohol pre-cleaning pads, a tube of SeamGrip adhesive, and a wooden spatula.
Inflate the sleeping pad to the maximum. Submerge it underwater and observe if any bubbles are escaping from any part. You can do this either at home in the bathtub or outside in a stream. Mark the hole with tape and continue searching.
The second option for finding a hole is to wet a sponge with a bit of dish soap and gradually wipe the sleeping pad with soapy water. In the spots where the sleeping pad has holes, bubbles will form.
Clean the surface around the hole with an alcohol pad. Once the area dries, open the valve and release all the air from the sleeping pad. Mark the surface needed for the fabric patch, which you will then coat with glue. Allow the glue to adhere to the surface of the sleeping pad and wait 20 minutes. Remove the paper from the fabric patch and stick it onto the glue. Press down firmly and push out all the air from under the patch. You can weigh down the glued area. Let the glue dry for 3-4 hours. Then you can inflate the sleeping pad again.
