A foam sleeping pad RidgeRest Classic is a great choice for anyone looking for an affordable option while prioritizing durability over packability. Its advantages include high durability and low weight. The sleeping pad has no parts that can be damaged in any way. Unlike inflatable sleeping pads, you don't need a footprint underneath it, and you can easily sit on the ground with it, even by the campfire.
It is constructed from foam polyethylene with a closed-cell structure, which gives it one significant property – it does not absorb water. The thickness of the sleeping pad is 1,5 cm.
The thermal resistance value of this sleeping pad is R = 2 and it is suitable for 3-season use. Therm-a-Rest sleeping pads are measured according to the ASTM F3340-18 standard. Therefore, their R-values may vary slightly in new versions.
