Topo trail running shoes are among the most popular for hiking the long-distance trails – and for good reason. The women's Pursuit 2 model features a durable and breathable upper, an excellent grip Vibram® Megagrip outsole, and a zero drop that supports a natural foot strike.

Topo Pursuit 2
The Pursuit 2 is a comfortably cushioned shoe with a 28 mm thick ZipFoam™ midsole and a zero-drop design. It is built on a Vibram® Megagrip outsole, which provides great traction even on wet rocky surfaces. Additionally, it features a special FKT insole designed for quick water drainage in wet conditions.
The Pursuit 2 shoes have a zero drop (0 mm). A zero drop supports a natural foot strike, improves balance, and can strengthen the muscles of the feet and ankles. However, a gradual transition is recommended to avoid muscle or tendon strain, especially for those accustomed to a higher drop. The upper of the shoe is made of durable mesh that provides excellent breathability, durability, and enhanced protection in high-wear areas. It also features a wide toe box that allows for natural toe and foot splay, making the Pursuit a perfect choice not only for running but also for hiking long-distance trails.

Our experience
Despite its relatively low weight – 244 grams in EU size 38, this is no fragile slipper.
The Pursuit 2 is a robust trail shoe with a solid tread that can handle tough terrain and keep you stable. Several members of our Gramino team (David, Míša, and Peťa) have sworn by Topo trail running shoes for the past few years.
We've put Topo Athletic shoes to the test on a number of treks:
- Light winter crossings paired with DexShell waterproof socks.
- Mountain trekking in Kyrgyzstan, where the terrain consisted mainly of dusty trails, rocky paths, and scree slopes.
- Long-distance thru-hiking: Peťa completed the Pacific Crest Trail a few years ago and, in 2024, hiked the Continental Divide Trail in Topo trail shoes.
