The Granite Gear Crown3 is a new and improved version of the popular ultralight women's backpack, perfect for multi-day hikes as well as the long-distance trails. The Women's version features better-adjusted shoulder straps and hip belt for women's curves.

The new version of the Crown3 offers several small yet impactful upgrades compared to its predecessor, the Crown2 60, which may make a big difference when choosing your next backpack.
The shoulder straps now feature two removable sternum straps instead of one.
Elastic loops with toggles on the shoulder straps allow for attaching a small water bottle.
The front stretch pocket is slightly wider for easier access and increased capacity.
The backpack now includes reflective elements, such as the logo and the backpack name, for better visibility.
The bottom of the backpack is equipped with attachment loops for additional cords or bungee straps (not included), enabling you to attach bulky items like a foam sleeping pad.
The frame is made from a removable, durable V.C. Mark 3 polypropylene frame, which can accommodate an aluminum stay (sold separately) for increased comfort when carrying heavier loads.
The lid's buckle arrangement has been redesigned, allowing you to convert the lid into a large chest pouch or attach it to the hip belt to create a spacious fanny pack.
The lid now includes two compartments for better organization of your gear.
The backpack is also available in an Undyed version, made from 98% undyed fabrics and materials. This reduces water waste by 55%, making it a more sustainable choice.

The Crown3 60 strikes a perfect balance as an ultralight mid-range backpack, combining the best features of both traditional and ultralight designs: low weight, excellent durability, and outstanding carrying comfort.
This backpack is an excellent choice for anyone looking to reduce pack weight while still needing a higher-capacity option.
The Crown3 builds on the success of the Crown2 model, featuring a fully adjustable Re-Fit hip belt, a Vapor Current Mark 3 PE frame with a foam back panel, and a removable lid. The lid can be converted into a chest pouch or, when paired with the hip belt, into a spacious fanny pack.
Among the thru-hiking community, many hikers have successfully completed long-distance trails such as the PCT, CDT, and AT with this backpack, logging thousands of kilometers—a true test of its quality and functionality.
The comfort load limit for this backpack is approximately 15 kg, according to the manufacturer. For increased comfort and load capacity by about 3,6 kg, you can purchase an aluminum reinforcement, which inserts into the internal plastic frame. This upgrade improves weight transfer from your shoulders to your hips.

You can reduce the weight of the Crown3 60 by removing the aluminum frame, the top lid, or the hip belt. This allows you to save several hundred grams, making it ideal for shorter trips where a lighter setup is preferred.

The main compartment is a simple long tunnel. The closure system is designed like that of dry bags—roll the opening several times and secure it with side buckles. A center strap locks the closure in place while compressing the pack's contents.
The removable lid includes a zippered pocket, ideal for small items like a headlamp, first-aid kit, or toothbrush. Inside the lid, you'll find two compartments for better gear organization. The lid offers an additional 5 liters of space (not included in the pack’s total volume).
The patented RE-FIT hip belt is removable and adjustable to fit your waist size. It features two zippered pockets for small essentials. When detached, the hip belt can be combined with the top lid to create a convenient fanny pack for short hikes.
The back panel is made of contoured, comfortable foam with ventilation holes. The pack is supported by a durable V.C. Mark 3 Frame made of polypropylene. For additional comfort when carrying loads around 15 kg, you can insert the ALUMINUM STAY ADD-ON (sold separately) into the frame to enhance load distribution.
The side pockets feature stretch mesh made from a more durable material. These deep and spacious pockets can hold two 1-liter bottles or one larger bottle. The elastic drawcord with a toggle at the top secures the pocket's contents.
The pack includes six compression straps with buckles, long enough to attach items such as a Therm-a-Rest Z Lite sleeping pad or tent.
The stretch kangaroo pocket on the front is perfect for storing a waterproof jacket, trowel, tent stakes, and similar gear.
The backpack also features load-lifter straps, which help you pull the pack closer to your body for better weight distribution, especially when carrying heavier loads.
Inside, there’s a loop for hanging a hydration reservoir and an opening for the drinking tube.
Additional features include two removable sternum straps and loops for attaching an ice axe or trekking poles.

As with all Granite Gear products, durability is a priority for the Crown3 60. The backpack is made from tough 100D and 210D nylon with a DWR coating that provides protection against light rain. The zippers on the hip belt and lid now also feature a DWR treatment for added water resistance.
The shoulder and hip straps are well-padded for maximum comfort.
When it comes to details, the backpack is meticulously crafted. The quality of the stitching, buckles, and straps is outstanding. We also appreciate the finer touches, such as branded zipper pulls and the embossed logo on the hip belt buckle.
The Crown3 60 is available in two color options: Copper Oxide (green) and Undyed (white).

The detachable top lid can be attached to special loops on the shoulder straps and used as a chest pouch.

The elastic drawcords on the shoulder straps allow you to keep your water bottle within easy reach at all times.

A stretch pocket designed for gear you want quick access to or for drying wet clothing on the go.

By combining the top lid and the hip belt, you can create a spacious fanny pack for shorter hikes.

Contours on the back panel provide improved ventilation.

The cords at the bottom of the backpack are best used for securing a foam sleeping pad or a tent.
