Specifications
The Montane brand has introduced a range of updates and improvements in its 2024 collection of the legendary Trailblazer backpacks. The backpacks are now made from recycled materials, with the most significant changes in pocket design, pack access, and a new T-Hook attachment system. This T-Hook system allows relocation of fastening points using hooks that fit into multiple attachment slots along the front panel's sides. The Trailblazer 18 (2024) features a new front stretch mesh pocket, building upon the success of its predecessor, the Trailblazer 18.
The backpack is made from lightweight and durable recycled RAPTOR Cross Lite 70D Nylon, which resists light rain thanks to a durable polyurethane composite UTS coating and a PFC-free DWR treatment. This makes the pack more environmentally friendly and safer for the user. The shoulder straps, hip belt, and back panel are constructed from recycled CONTACT Air Mesh Plus (100% polyester), ensuring breathability and comfort while minimizing abrasion on membrane outerwear.
The Trailblazer 18 includes a well-thought-out pocket layout and is compatible with hydration bladders.
The backpack is available in one size, suitable for torso lengths between 45 – 53 cm. Its design and structure place it between a traditional backpack and a running vest, offering everything needed for day hikes and trail running. If you're looking for a larger pack for extended hikes or lightweight weekend trips, consider the Trailblazer 25 or Trailblazer 32 from the same collection.
For fast movement in the mountains
The backpack closely conforms to the user's body while allowing full freedom of active movement. The COVALENT system adapts perfectly to individual body shapes.
Chest straps
The backpack features two height-adjustable elastic chest straps with Click and Go fastening, ensuring quick and easy adjustments for enhanced stability and security during fast-paced movement.
Side pockets
The comfortable hip belt features 2 easily accessible zippered pockets, perfect for storing a snack, wallet, action camera, or a small water bottle.
Shoulder strap pockets
The shoulder strap pockets feature a stretch expansion and are zippered for secure closure. They are spacious enough to hold a cell phone or small water bottles.
Quick attachment of trekking poles
The new T-Hook attachment system allows adjustable placement of fastening points on the backpack using hooks that can be inserted into multiple slots on the sides of the front panel.
Front mesh pocket
Compared to the previous version, this model features a practical stretch front pocket, allowing for quick storage and easy access to essential items.
Hidden pocket for valuables
Underneath the front mesh pocket, there is a concealed security pocket designed for storing a wallet or other valuables, featuring a key clip for added security.
Internal storage space
The main storage compartment is perfectly sized for day trips and features dividers for easy organization of your gear.
