Hornet OSMO 2P tent from an American brand NEMO is an ultralight three-season double-wall tent for 2 people. Its total weight (including accessories) is a beautiful 1,14 kg. It is one of the lightest tents for two people that has 2 separate entrances with vestibules. The tent also has plenty of features and thoughtful details that you will surely love.
The tent is very popular even on long-distance hikes, such as the Pacific Crest Trail or the Appalachian Trail. In such cases, it is mostly used by only one person, but with luxurious internal space for storing the backpack and all belongings.
In the case of two people, two standard-sized sleeping pads fit comfortably in the tent without overlapping. Each person can store their backpack in their own vestibule, as usually, there isn't enough space inside the tent for two people's belongings.
The package includes not only the tent itself (inner tent, rainfly) with the tent pole, but also tent stakes, guy lines, a pole repair sleeve, and a practical stuff sack with a roll-top closure.
To extend the life of the tent, we recommend using the original footprint under the tent NEMO Hornet 2P Footprint, which can be purchased separately, or the footprint Tyvek for 2 persons.

The tent has 2 separate entrances located on the sides, so you don't have to climb over each other with your partner. Each entrance has its own sufficiently spacious vestibule, for example for storing a backpack.

The inner tent is made of OSMO ripstop material and insect-proof mesh, which also eliminates condensation. On the sides of the tent is used white mesh, providing more privacy, while above your head is black mesh through which you can observe the night sky.

Above the head, the rainfly is cut out, so it does not reach the ground completely, which reduces the weight of the whole tent while also improving ventilation. However, rain doesn't get inside the tent – the inner tent in this area is made of OSMO ripstop material, which is also used for the tent's footprint. The rainfly is also slightly cut out in the foot area.

Plastic clips Flybar™, which attach to the tent pole at the top of the structure, increase the interior space of the tent above the head and evenly distribute the tension created when tensioning the rainfly.

A simple and elegant solution for securing the tent doors using integrated Gatekeeper™ clips, which you can operate with just one hand.

To reduce moisture condensation inside the tent, you can open the small ventilation vents on the rainfly, which are located above both doors of the tent.

Inside the tent, at the top above your head, you will find one larger practical mesh pocket for storing items or drying wet clothes.

At the top of the inner tent, there is a pocket where you can place your turned-on headlamp in the evening, which will evenly distribute light throughout the tent and at the same time eliminate blue light.

The tent can be packed up completely, including the poles, into the stuff sack with a roll-top closure, which is included in the packaging. However, it is designed in such a way that you can also distribute the weight of the tent among partners. If you pack the pole structure separately, you can compress the stuff sack with the tent into a small package.
The entire range of OSMO tents brand NEMO is made from patented ripstop material OSMO. It is a combination of 100% recycled polyester and nylon, which is 20% stronger, has 4x better water repellency, and 3x less stretch when wet compared to commonly used tent materials. The OSMO material also contains no PFAS substances, no added chemicals were used in its production, and it meets fire resistance standards. It also has certification bluesign®. This means that the manufacturing process of this material is safe for the environment, the workers, and its users.
The tent is semi-freestanding, which means it can stand on its own without being anchored with stakes, but to keep the lower part at the feet taut, it needs to be weighed down or staked out.
The tent itself is quick, simple, and intuitive to set up thanks to the color-coded elements.
The main structure of the tent consists of one branching pole, to which the inner tent is attached using clips, and over it, the rainfly is draped and secured.
The video shows the setup of the NEMO Hornet tent, which has the same construction and design as the NEMO Hornet OSMO, but differs in the materials used and color.
