Specifications
Lightweight Stuff Sacks from Sea To Summit are lightweight and durable bags with a simple drawstring closure, designed for organized storage of gear in your backpack. They also protect your belongings from moisture and dirt. Available in several sizes.
The sacks are made from durable 70D recycled nylon with a PFC-free DWR coating, ensuring water repellency. The material is bluesign® certified, meaning it was produced in a way that is safe for the environment, workers, and users. The interior is coated with a white polyurethane (PU) laminate with a 2000 mm water column, making it easier to see and locate items inside.
Although the material is water-resistant and protects against moisture, the sack is not fully waterproof as it lacks taped seams and a secure watertight closure.
Drawstring closure
Thanks to the closure with a durable drawstring and a tightening buckle, you can easily and very quickly access your items.
Handle on the bottom
The bottom of the stuff sack features a sturdy nylon webbing handle for easy and secure grip.
Reinforced seams
For greater durability and strength, the stuff sack is equipped with reinforced seams at all stressed points.
White internal PU laminate
The white inner lining reflects light, making it easier to see and find your gear.
Stuff Sack vs Dry Bag
The Lightweight Stuff Sack series and the popular Lightweight Dry Bag series are both made from the same durable material but differ in several key aspects:
- Water Resistance: While the Stuff Sack material is water-resistant and offers protection from moisture, it does not have taped seams or a secure closure like the Dry Bag.
- Closure: The Dry Bag features a roll-top closure, allowing for partial compression and adjustable volume, but it’s not as quick and easy to use as the drawcord closure of the Stuff Sack.
- Weight: The Stuff Sack is slightly lighter than the Dry Bag due to the absence of the roll-top closure.
- Shape: The Stuff Sack has a round shape, whereas the Dry Bag is oval-shaped.
If you need a waterproof stuff sack, for example for safely storing a down jacket or sleeping bag, we recommend using rather STS Lightweight Dry Bag or even lighter STS Ultra-Sil Dry Bag, possibly a waterproof bag with compression straps – STS eVac Compression Dry Bag or STS eVac Compression Dry Bag UL.
