Z Lite SOL™
A very popular foam sleeping pad with an accordion design, which allows you to pack and unpack it literally in a few seconds. It is a great choice for anyone who prioritizes durability and ease of use over comfort and compactness.
Its advantage is high durability and low weight. The sleeping pad has no parts that can be damaged in any way. Unlike inflatable sleeping pads, you don’t need any footprint under this sleeping pad, and you can comfortably sit by the campfire with it.
Materials and construction
Z-lite is constructed from closed-cell polyethylene foam, which gives it one significant property – it does not absorb water. The sleeping pad consists of 14 rectangular pieces measuring 51 x 13 cm. When folded, it has the shape of a rectangular prism measuring 51 x 13 x 14 cm. When unfolded, it measures 51 x 183 cm. The thickness of the sleeping pad is 2 cm.
The sleeping pad in yellow-silver and blue-silver variants features a reflective ThermaCapture™ layer on the top side, which reflects heat back to you and increases overall thermal performance by up to 15%. The thermal resistance value of this pad is R=2,0 and is suitable for 3-season use.
The pad is also available in a version without a reflective layer with a lower R – Therm-a-Rest Z Lite.
Therm-a-Rest sleeping pads are now measured according to the ASTM F3340-18 standard. Their R-values therefore differ slightly in the new versions. When comparing sleeping pads from different brands, make sure that the same metric was used in determining the R-value.
