Topo MTN Racer 3
The MTN Racer 3 model is an super cushioned trail running shoe with a 28/33 mm high ZipFoam™ midsole that offers the perfect mix of comfort, protection, and dynamic response. The Vibram® Megagrip outsole ensures great grip and reliable traction even in tough technical terrain.
The MTN Racer 3 shoes have a 5 mm drop that combines a more natural landing with enough support and comfort for running on varied terrain. Thanks to the improved toe curvature, they also make it easier to transition quickly into push-off and ensure a smoother, more efficient run. If you're looking for a shoe with a zero drop for an even more natural movement, check out the Pursuit 2 model.
The upper of the shoe offers high breathability, durability, and the necessary protection for your foot in the most stressed areas. Of course, it also has a wide toe box that allows for a natural toe splay and a more comfortable landing. Thanks to these features, the MTN Racer 3 model is an ideal choice for trail running, but also for quick mountain ascents and long, technically challenging hikes.

Our experiences
Despite its relatively low weight – 235 grams in size 38 EU, it's not some delicate little shoe.
MTN Racer 3 is a solid trail shoe with a decent grip that you can really put to the test and will hold up in the terrain. Some members of our Gramino team (David, Míša, and Peťa) have been raving about Topo trail shoes for the last few years.
We tested Topo Athletic shoes on a number of treks:
- mountain trek in Kyrgyzstan, where it was mainly about moving through dusty and rocky terrain and scree fields,
- Peťa with her trail shoes from Topo hiked the Pacific Crest Trail a few years ago and in 2024 she'll tackle the Continental Divide Trail.
In all cases, they've proven themselves, and that's why we're super happy to welcome them to our Gramino collection!
