Specifications
The poncho weighs a total of 195 g, which is even 35 g less than the manufacturer states. It is constructed from Ultra-Sil 15D material, which can withstand much more than it may seem at first glance. The water column of this material is 1200 mm.
The size of the unfolded poncho is 145 x 265 cm and it has a total of 8 anchor points. Due to its smaller size, it will be ideal for most as an emergency shelter for weekend trips. However, we successfully endured a downpour in the High Tatras with it as a shelter for two people. This required pulling the tarp all the way to the ground for maximum protection. As a full-fledged shelter for longer trips, it is more suitable for smaller individuals and it's good to combine it with a groundsheet or net inner tent.
The poncho is long enough to cover even a larger backpack. It has a drawstring on the back that allows you to lift the bottom edge so it doesn't drag on the ground when used without a backpack. We also appreciate the small visor (brim on the hood) and the option to adjust the hood. There is also side fastening to prevent the poncho from flapping in the wind.
